Associate jpg files

Can't associate jpg files. Thread starter cowboyra Start date Oct 18, Joined Oct 18, Messages 3 Reaction score 1. Since upgrading to windows 11 I can't associate jpg or jpeg files to my viewer. They are associated with a print picture app.

When I try to associate with a different app, jpg and jpeg extensions aren't even on the associate list. Also When I click on a jpg and pick "open with" I do not get the "always open with" check box Any suggestions will be appreciated. Last edited by a moderator: Oct 19, Synfig Studio Development Team.

Most programs will ask you at the point of installation if you want it to be the default handler for particular file types but you can change it afterwards too. You can either use Control Panel, the Windows 10 Settings menu to set the default, or you can also select one on the fly with a right-click. Before we get to changing the default program to open a particular type of file, we need to identify that file.

If you want to always see the file type, you can configure File Explorer to display it. Control Panel is still the main way to control what happens on your computer. Our first method uses it to quickly associate file types with programs. Depending on the file type, you may only have one option to select.
