Rosewill thor case manual
Installing the motherboard was easy and painless, though Rosewill doesn't include stand-offs built straight into the board, a convenience I do miss. Where Rosewill does run afoul of Corsair is in the rubber grommets used to line the holes in the motherboard tray, which as I said before are held in largely by wishful thinking. Honestly they're just not strong enough to stay in and for most of my cable routing I wound up either accidentally or deliberately popping them out, and this was going on pretty much from the get go.
Unfortunately, while the drive trays are still back-facing and thus awesome, they aren't tool-less. The trays support both 2. Still, the trays work well enough and routing the cables behind them was a breeze.
The same can't be said for the tool-less mechanism Rosewill uses for installing 5. To remove the bay covers, you actually slide the right part of the case's front bezel off and then lever out the covers. Honestly, the old school "squeeze-and-pop" bay shields would've been perfectly fine here. Thus far the Thor v2 is largely nothing but upshot, but I do have some concerns. While build quality is by no means terrible, the Thor v2 does feel a little bit chintzier than the other cases I've reviewed.
The plastic used for the front feels cheap, and as you'll see in assembly, the rubber grommets that line the motherboard tray cutouts are held in place virtually entirely through the power of prayer.
Rosewill addressed my concerns with my initial review unit by sending me a replacement, and the replacement does feel a bit more solid, but I think the build quality is still a fundamental weak point. If this case isn't going to be moved around much and really, at this size it shouldn't be , I don't think it's necessarily horribly rickety or inclined to break; it just doesn't feel quite as solid as some of the other enclosures I've tested.

The case is a heavier than I imagined and the materials seem to be thicker than some of the equally priced cases. I gave it several good pushes from the top corners and there was very little flex if any while the case was completely assembled.
Moving on to the side panels of the THOR V2-W, we see that Rosewill opted for the black mesh approach for more Ventilation instead of a see through window. The mesh window is kind of in an X pattern and has mm intake fan attached to it.
Looking to the top of the case we can see that Rosewill gave it a bit more attention in design and functionality. This, in a way, gives off a lightning effect to the top of the case when the lights are off at night.
Sucks, but if you are getting the Thor with this mobo, get a slim fan mm you can find them on Newegg and it should have enough clearance. I was able to safely run without one of the fans on the radiator, so that's good news too, I just wouldn't do it for very long or push your CPU to the max without both fans.
Couldn't figure out how to use the bottom fan, it was a little sharp and I almost cut myself. Overall Review: This case is gorgeous, it lights up beautifully, I recommend running a blue led extension on the bottom of the case to really show it off.
I know it's cool to think your case is a Transformer but this sucker was not made on Cybertron, it will crack at the top if you put your hand down and rest your weight on it.
I -nearly- did this while flipping my case to put in my hi backplate. Pros: I purchased this case about 5 years ago and have had zero issues with it. Easy to swap out fans when needed. Cable management is fantastic.
More than enough drive bays. Overall Review: The only problem I ever had was through my own fault. Over the 5 years that I've owned the case, I've managed to damage one of the front-top side USB ports and both the headphone and mic jacks. Simply from having things plugged in and tripping over cords and yanking them out of the ports.
I contacted Rosewill to see if I could order a replacement control board for the front-top side ports. They said they would try to locate the spare part but, there was no guarantee it would be available. They said if they were able to find it, they'd email me with the information and cost of the part. About one week later I received an email confirmation from Newegg.
They did not charge me a dime for the part or for the shipping. I've been a loyal customer to Newegg. Pros: This is a case that Thor himself basks with his glory from on high. The case is huge It will have no trouble fitting anything. Fans are quiet, large, and keep my system quite cool.
The red lighting is a plus. Sold by: Newegg Shipped by Newegg. Auto Notify. Price Alert.
